Holiday Itinerary

Relax, unwind and refocus during your yoga sessions, held twice daily, then walk off any stress through the quiet lanes and mountain paths that are all around this stunning location for your 5 night / 6 day yoga and hiking holiday.

On this yoga and hiking holiday, your lead instructor, Nicole and her team will guide you through two daily yoga lessons based on Hatha, Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga styles. There'll be a class in the morning to awaken and energise you for the day and another in the evening to relax and maybe even stretch your muscles if you have been hiking that day.

The classes are carefully planned and expertly delivered to ensure the yoga practice prepares and opens your body for when you are out walking in the countryside and nearby mountains. Expect to hear plenty of alignment tips in the yoga sessions to ensure you practice safely with awareness and whole body integration.

In addition to the twice daily yoga sessions, there will be two guided hikes and a 3rd self guided hike during your stay where you'll enjoy coastal & mountain landscapes, and explore the neighbouring villages. The first hike takes you out into the countryside surrounding the hotel where you'll pass crops of oranges, lemons, olives, figs and avocados following a path that leads to the sea. Your 2nd guided hike is a 4.5 to 5 hour hike into the nearby stunning mountains with time to stop and enjoy the views with a picnic lunch. For those ready for another walk, they'll be maps for a self guided 17km coastal hike to the neighbouring town of Albir. The walks offer a great opportunity to stretch your legs and get to know other friendly, like minded people.

While your hikes will allow you to take in the great outdoors, your yoga classes will be in the onsite yoga/Pilates studio, which is spacious, light and bright with wooden floors & large picture windows with views to the pool & mountains. You’ll find everything here you need for your sessions, so there is no need to worry.

Along with Nicole, the family who owns the hotel, headed by Vincenza, will be there to see to all of your needs, whether it be dietary, some expert tips on places to go and things to see, or the best place to have an evening glass of wine in the village. Your tuition will be first class, and your hosts know the area in and out.
Accommodation is set in superb twin/double rooms, all ensuite, in the 300 year old olive farm which has been converted into a 4 star country house hotel where each spacious room has its own unique charm and style. They are well decorated & cared for, and are of a traditional Spanish style with beamed ceilings, white washed walls, wooden or tiled floors, and large windows letting in maximum light and sunshine. In your free time, feel free to walk the country paths, lounge by the pool, hit the gym, or ease your well-worked muscles in the on site sauna, book additional therapies or join the optional bike ride or cooking class.

Between your hikes and yoga, you will be served healthy plant based meals, using locally sourced seasonal produce by the hotel Chef. On two occasions, you will have the opportunity to have dinner out and try some regional favourites.

Who is this suitable for?
- Yoga is suitable for all levels from beginners with little yoga experience to advanced practitioners
- We suggest you have a reasonable level of fitness for hiking but please note that all walks are optional and you can choose to sit some out if you wish
 - Minimum age 16 (accompanied by an adult)

I'm travelling solo - can I join?
- This holiday makes a great singles holiday as it is the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded people with similar interests
- You can book your own private double/twin room for a low single supplement of £75.00 for the week

When can I start?
- This holiday begins on Thursdays and runs on selected dates 
- Yoga and hiking holidays are for 5 nights / 6 days
- Non-participating partners are welcome to share your twin or double room for as low as £300.00 which includes accommodation & all meals (please ask GoLearnTo for an exact quote)
- If you would like to add on another night to accommodate your flights, you can do so starting from £70.00 (please ask GoLearnTo for an exact quote)

Typical itinerary
The itinerary is for guidance only and is subject to change depending on the group’s needs and wishes but is typically as follows:

Day 1 - Arrival
- Arrive at the country house where you can check into your room, relax, explore and feel free to take a dip in the pool
- Join your host Nicole along with the other guests for a welcome gathering with healthy refreshments and snacks and get to know everyone

Days 2-5
- Start your day at 8am with some fresh fruit and herbal teas
- At 8:30, join the 90 minute morning yoga session, then head to the buffet for a wonderful, healthy brunch
- Then, depending on the day, you could be:
Heading out on the guided 13km ‘coast & country’ hike
Setting off to the mountains for a guided mountain hike with a picnic lunch
Striding out with your maps on a self guided coastal hike to the neighbouring town
Taking part in the optional guided bike ride
Joining Chef Juan in his kitchen for a Spanish cookery workshop
Enjoying some pampering with the holistic therapies offered onsite – massages, facials, reflexology, reiki & more
- In your free time, you can choose to simply relax by the pool, curl up with a book, use the sauna or gym
- In the late afternoon, you will re-group for your last yoga class of the day, before tucking into a beautiful vegetarian dinner
- Dinner may be in the restaurant at the country hotel, or a local place of your choice to try some regional specialties

Day 6 - Departure
- Have a leisurely lie in and enjoy your breakfast buffet before your departure
- For early risers, feel free to enjoy the pool, or get one last hike in
- If ever you feel you need more time to relax and have a lie in or some alone time on your holiday- no worries! Feel free to enjoy your country home away from home and enjoy the area at your leisure

Your host & instructor
- Your warm and friendly instructor, Nicole, moved to Spain in 2003 with her husband and daughter
- After some health issues, she completely changed her lifestyle and began to focus on yoga, practice, and teaching, and it is now her passion and her full time commitment
- She has an excellent warm and accommodating approach to teaching where she focuses on individuals within the group; covering from the very beginner to the more experienced yogi
- Nicole qualified with an ‘excellent’ grade Diploma following 2 years of training with FRYOG (Friends of Yoga International)
- Nicole has over 15 years teaching experience and has further trained with some of the most inspiring yoga teachers – Shiva Rea, Claire Missingham, Liz Lark, and Godfri Devereux amongst others
- In addition to Nicole, there is a whole yoga team there for you along with Vincenza and family running the accommodation to ensure you are looked after and get everything you need during your week in their care

What will I learn?
- Yoga and hiking are the perfect blend of two complementing exercises
- Hiking is great for the heart and lungs but on its own can create tight leg muscles however, by adding lengthening yoga stretches you’ll loosen your hamstrings, build strength, deepen your breathing and improve mobility
- By fusing yoga & hiking together on one retreat, it means that you’ll receive a total boost to your fitness as the gaps left by hiking will be filled by yoga
- The daily yoga sessions are designed to complement the hikes combining the deep stretches of Hatha with the warming flow of Vinyasa and some deeply restorative and relaxing Yin Yoga
- Morning yoga sessions focus on simple flowing sequences to stretch muscles and open joints whilst synchronising your breath with movement so that your practice becomes like a calming moving meditation
- Evening classes are more restorative where we will hold postures a little longer using the breath to move deeper within and reconnect with your inner peace
- The teaching style is precise but relaxed and, as safety is important, expect to hear plenty of alignment cues to keep you on track

- The stunning 300 year old converted olive oil farm house boasts 20 spacious,  beautifully furnished twin and double bedrooms, all of which are ensuite
- The accommodation where you’ll stay is a unique blend of traditional country house complete with beamed ceilings, and white washed walls, combined with the comfort of modern private bathrooms and everything you need to make yourself at home
- Set in the lush mountains of Southern Spain, surrounded by groves, country trails, and 10 minutes from a medieval village
- There is a bar, restaurant, and lounge all on site
- The rooms spotless and lovingly cared for

- The country house offers a beautiful swimming pool, sauna, and gym for all guests
- The yoga studio itself is bright and fully-equipped with everything you need and is light and bright with wooden floors, large picture windows, and views to the pool & mountains
- Accommodation is included for 5 nights / 6 days
- Just a 10 minute easy stroll to the nearby 'old town' of Altea
- Check in anytime after 3pm on day 1 and check out at noon on day 6

What can I do in my free time?
- Explore the old town of Altea and its beaches, all within a 20 minute walk
