This unique 7 night walking holiday in the heart of Andalucia, Spain, guarantees incredible terrain, panoramic vistas, & stunning architecture, all within Andalucia’s wonderful climate, making it the perfect setting for a walking holiday.

Explore the wonders of this stunning southern region of Spain during 5 varied guided walks. Your guides will be on hand to tell you about the rich history of the region, guide you through rugged trails and picturesque villages and onwards and upwards to incredible viewpoints.

Your base will be in the beautiful white village of Torrox, set at the base of high mountains. Experience the pace of local life in this lovely village and let your hosts make you feel at home and comfortable while you stay in charming village houses with delicious group meals to enjoy throughout your stay.

Experience breath-taking scenery, learn about the local history, wildlife & fauna, sample the delicious local cuisine, meet like-minded people and go home full of memories that will stay with you long after the holiday is over.

Who is it suitable for?
- Walking holidays are suitable for all ages over 18
- PLEASE NOTE: All walks are up to 4-5 hours each at a pace that allows you to enjoy the beauty of your surroundings, however, please see the itinerary below for information on the ascents and descents of each walk to ensure this trip is suitable for you
- These walking holidays make great singles holidays and there is no single supplement on this trip if you are travelling solo

Typical itinerary
Please note this itinerary is an example only and may change slightly due to time of year and weather conditions (please note information regarding the ascents and descents):

Day 1 – Arrival Day
- You will be collected from Malaga airport (please see below for more details) and taken to the charming village of Torrox where your holiday and accommodation will be based
- Depending on your arrival time, there will be a light lunch in the village and a chance to get to know your fellow guests and hosts, Paul and Victoria
- After lunch, take time to settle in and stroll around the village
- Enjoy a welcome dinner in the evening at a village restaurant

Day 2 – Torrox Discovery Walk – 15km – 1053 feet / 321 metres
- Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before setting off on today’s walk
- This is a local walk from the village of Torrox and during the walk you learn about the rich history of this Moorish village
- There is a steady climb to reach the ridge line where you can admire the stunning views of the Sierra Almijara
- On your return to Torrox you will pass through olive, avocado, orange and almond groves
- In the evening you will enjoy dinner at an excellent local Spanish restaurant in the village

Day 3 – Frigiliana – 9km – 1348 feet / 411 metres
- Enjoy breakfast at your leisure before heading off in the provided transport to the start of your walk
- The walk today is a circular one starting from the picturesque white village of Frigiliana
- Follow a mountain stream in a gorge ascending to a rugged footpath to a ridgeline with beautiful views and on the return enjoy a cold well-earned beer or coffee or spend time exploring the local shops and pretty streets
- In the evening you will head to a local restaurant in the village for dinner

Day 4 – El Acebuchal and Cerro Verde – 12km – 1748 feet / 411 metres
- After breakfast , the walk today will start from the lost hamlet of El Acebuchal through wild open countryside with an ascent to just below the summit of Cerro Verde at 300 feet offering amazing views of the valleys surrounding you
- The route today traverses a dry river bed, forest tracks and foot paths and was well used during the Spanish Civil War
- Today there will be a late lunch at a local restaurant followed by a free evening in Torrox to spend as you wish

Day 5 – Rest Day
- Today is a free day for you to explore the area further or simply relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings
- In the evening you are again free to do as you please such as sampling one of the many restaurants of your choice
- Your hosts will be on hand to provide you with maps, timetables and information should you need it

Day 6 – Walk Of Two Provinces – 13km – 2132 feet / 650 metres
- You will start your walk today along a disused railway line ascending to the ridgeline of Hoyo del Toro passing through a pine forest while you admire the views towards the provinces of Malaga and Granada
- Tonight there will be an evening dinner at a local restaurant

Day 7 – Alcaucin And Forest – 15km – 1450 feet / 442 metres
- The walk today will take you through a wild forest on the north side of the highest mountain in the region; it’s a lovely walk through a national park with 360 degree views and local wildlife is regularly spotted here
- For your final evening the group will enjoy a farewell meal together in a village restaurant

Day 8 – Departure Day
- After breakfast you are kindly asked to check-out of your room ready for your transfer to Malaga airport (please see below for more details), taking home with you memories, new friendships and an insight into Andalucían life that will stay with you long after the holiday is over

Christmas walking holiday dates
- Please note that walking holidays that take place over Christmas are designed for those looking to escape the Christmas hustle and bustle
- This walking holiday will provide excellent company, stunning scenery and not a bit of turkey or tinsel in sight!

Where will I be staying?
- Stay 7 nights in charming restored Moorish houses, set in the Andalucian mountain town of Torrox
- The houses provide you with modern comforts and conveniences whilst you are able to experience a traditional setting
- Guests will share the houses but you will have your own private bedroom and bathroom
- The houses have been beautifully restored and are equipped with all modern comforts, such as, a washing machine, fridge, iron, hairdryers and showers
- All the houses have terraces with wonderful views over the village with the mountains or sea in the background
- Rooms are traditionally and simply decorated with tiled floors
- WiFi is available in the bars and restaurants of the local square
- Rooms have air conditioning and central heating
- Breakfast is included daily for this holiday and will be served in the form of a breakfast pack
- Guests must vacate their accommodation by 10am on departure day

Are meals included?
- Breakfast packs are included daily and will contain croissants, coffee, butter, jam, orange juice and milk
- All lunches are provided on walk days and will include healthy snacks and water
- There will be 5 evening meals which will be enjoyed in a selection of village restaurants and include wine and water
- Please note that dinner is not included on rest day or on days when there is a late lunch

Complimentary airport transfers
- Your hosts offer a courtesy transfer to and from Malaga Airport to Torrox
- If you would like a courtesy transfer, please note that transfers from Malaga to Torrox leave the airport at 12 noon (your flight must arrive before 12 noon) on arrival day and transfers from Torrox to Malaga airport leave Torrox at 9.00am (your flight must depart after 12 noon)
- If you are unable to make the times for the courtesy transfer, a private transfer can be arranged and costs 60 euros which is payable to the driver
